P. Diddy responds to the Lox
Nov 17th, 05'

Diddy appeared on New York's Hot 97 radio station Thursday afternoon to respond to The Lox's call to give up their publishing rights nearly 10 years after originally leaving his label (see "The Lox, Diddy Have It Out On New York Radio").

The Bad Boy CEO brought contracts and canceled checks to help prove his point to radio DJ, Angie Martinez, that he had not done wrong by his former Bad Boy artists.

"They said my paperwork game was tight," Diddy told Angie Martinez. "Sometimes the paperwork is just the facts. [The Lox] need to listen, so they can learn because it's very clear that they don't understand the business that they in for 10 years."

Although Diddy seemed a little cocky and threw a few little jabs the trio's way, he did admit that he wanted to clear the air about his stance on owning the group's publishing all these years -- stating that The Lox aren't really aware of what's in their contracts.

"These accusations attacking me as a man are totally not true," said Diddy. "It's embarrassing that some artists that have been in the game for 10 years...they don't even know the 101 of the industry. They apparently haven't read they contracts, and they don't even know what's going on in their own lives.

"New York was bamboozled, led a stray, run a muck yesterday and lied to that I own 50% of they publishing. I don't own 50% of they publishing and that's what the embarrassing part is. Puff gets 20% of they publishing, so they get 80% of they publishing," Diddy continued.

As the conversation went on, the music mogul explained that he felt The Lox may not have been lying, and instead simply didn't know "their paperwork." Martinez continued to let Diddy respond to specific quotes said by The Lox the day before, where he continued to state his side of the story and also revealed that he actually wants to resolve the matter with the group, but not over the radio.

The Lox tried to call in to dispute some of Diddy's claims, but he wouldn't allow Martinez to let them on. Instead, he said he would much rather discuss the problem on the phone or in-person like "grown men."

"I'm not here like 'Big Red,' pulling the wool over their eyes; I ain't gotta take nothing from nobody," said Diddy. "I have no problem with The Lox. I'm a fan of theirs. They can still come to my office and I'll erase yesterday."

In addition to addressing The Lox's claims, Diddy confronted the accusations that he still owns a big chunk of Biggie's publishing, brought up by Lil' Cease, who also called yesterday as well. Instead of speaking on the situation himself, he had the woman who probably knew the late Christopher Wallace best -- his mother.

Voletta Wallace denied any claims of Diddy being greedy and stated that her and Faith Evans were "very happy" about the situation arranged with Bad Boy for the publishing rights to her late son's music. Furthermore, Ms. Wallace said that Lil' Cease was butting in on a situation that was none of his business and should worry about himself.

Fat Joe's Respone to so Cent's Piggy Bank
Feb 25th, 05'

Heavyweight rapper Fat Joe has hit back at comments 50 Cent made about him on new track Piggy Bank by phoning in his thoughts to a New York radio station.

The angry rapper called 50 a "coward", adding, "Them steroids is getting to him. He ain't built like that. These dudes is hilarious to me."

Fat Joe told rap show host Kay Slay that he had no idea of a feud between him and 50 Cent before he heard the track, which blasts the heavyweight star for his friendship with arch-rival Ja Rule.

Lil Kim's Beef

This week (March 1st, 05'), rapper Lil' Kim is on trial on charges she lied about a shooting that wounded a man in front of the radio station in 2001, an incident that stemmed from a beef between Lil' Kim and rapper Foxy Brown.
Besides the 2001 shootout that resulted in a 12-year prison term for Lil' Kim's bodyguard, rapper Nas pulled out of Hot 97's Summer Jam concert in 2002 after complaining the station wouldn't let him rap about rival Jay-Z. The station said at the time that Nas planned to hang Jay-Z in effigy during his performance.
50 Cent

Last night an member of rapper 50 Cent's posse was wounded last night by gunmen who shot him in the lobby of troubled-plagued radio station Hot 97 — then tried to make their getaway in a snowplow.

Kevin Reed, 20, of Los Angeles, was in stable condition at St. Vincent's Hospital with a leg wound.

Bullets started flying in the station's Hudson Street building at around 10 p.m. as 50 Cent, a rapper with a history of violent incidents, was being interviewed.

He'd been discussing his decision to drop his protege, The Game, from his clique, G-Unit, As his entourage left the station, they met a group of autograph seekers. An argument ensued and four shots rang out. Cops said they came from two guns.

It's unclear whether the gunmen were with the autograph hounds or using them for cover. It's also not clear if any shots were fired by 50 Cent's bodyguards.

After the shooting, the gunmen ran out of the building, unsuccessfully tried to commandeer a passing Sanitation plow and fled on foot.

A song on a bootleg copy of his soon-to-be released album disses several rappers and challenges them to prove they're "gangstas" by retaliating.
It's not the first time that gunfire has erupted around 50 Cent and Hot 97. Last year, after an on-air appearance, a member of the rapper's entourage shot at Lil' Kim's bodyguard Damion Hardy. He had rushed to the studio after hearing 50 Cent diss Kim on air, police said.

And in 2003, a gunman fired six shots into the Midtown offices of 50 Cent's management company.
The rapper, born Curtis Jackson, survived getting shot nine times as he sat in front of his grandfather's South Jamaica home in 2000.
Rivalry Between 50 Cent And The Game Has Deep History
March 2nd, 05'

More details are bubbling to the surface about Monday’s leg shooting at NYC radio station Hot 97. Contrary to earlier reports, the wounded man was not part of 50 Cent’s entourage after all —police have confirmed he was from Compton, which just happens to be the hometown of 50's now ex-protégé, The Game.

So what exactly went down? The Associated Press reports 50 and Game were being interviewed on rival radio stations at the same time, and while Game was talking up the G-Unit leader, 50 was publicly kicking him out of the hip-hop collective. That’s cold — probably the worst case of on-air dumping since Matt Damon broke up with Minnie Driver on Oprah.

The public diss’n’drop was apparently a result of Game’s lacking loyalty to 50. Basically, Game didn’t support the more established rapper’s feuds with Jadakiss and Fat Joe (50 disses them on the track "Piggy Bank") and even recorded a song with 50-foe Nas. During Game’s Monday interview he said it wasn’t his job to fight his G-Unit boss’ battles.

50 was of a different opinion, and — while Game was trying to keep the peace across town — he appeared on Hot 97 with several other G-Unit members to call out the Compton MC. 50 said he was the talent behind most of Game’s hit LP The Documentary, that it was more a 50 EP than a Game album and that Game would've been dropped from his label if he hadn’t stepped in to help. "Every record he’s selling is based on me being on his record with him," he said.

Asked where Game stood with 50’s camp, the rapper replied, "Across the street or around the corner. He’s not in my camp. Not after being that disrespectful."

A listener soon called in to the second interview at Power 105, letting Game know about his pink slip. Game responded carefully, saying he would let them talk and "keep making good gangsta music," but when a second caller goaded Game that his success was over, the rapper told her to "suck it."

Police sources told MTV that Game and his crew later headed over to the Hot 97 studios, where 50 and G-Unit were still on-air. The group were barred from the building but supposedly got into a confrontation with another group of men who were leaving. When the violence started, the G-Unit members were taken out a side door.

According to MTV, tensions had been building in the G-Unit for a while. Game was only brought into the group in the first place at the request of Dr. Dre, and was the only West Coaster. His power struggle with 50 Cent included a supposed shoving match between the two. 50 was also annoyed at having to wait for Dre’s help with his second LP (because the Doctor was busy prepping the Game record), eventually turning to other producers for the bulk of the album's tracks.
Jay-Z dissing The Game and Cassidy
Feb 11th, 05'

Is Hov dissing Game and Cassidy? Though newcomers Cassidy and The Game recently denied dissing Jay-Z on "Hustler" and "West Side Story" respectively, the God MC is apparently not buying it. Earlier this week, Jiggaman and Memphis Bleek appeared on FunkMaster Flex's Hot 97 show to address the rumored beef. Though they denied any tension, Bleek challenged Game to a $10,000 battle and Jay dropped a lengthy freestyle in which he spit warning shots seemingly directed at Game and Cassidy. In its opening bars, Hov toys with Chuck Taylor's primary moniker over Black Rob's "Can I Live" instrumental spitting, "You saying my name to entertain your crew/ I ain't playing no games, sh--, the game's through/ You can get it broad day on Broadway while 'TRL' taping/ You playing a game you know you can't win/ Quit playing them childish games with grown men."

Seconds later Jay offers, "I ain't none of these half ass newcomers/ you know how I do summer." Towards the end of the verse, Hov once again fuels the speculations when he warns, "These cats make subliminal records/I don't respect it/ You don't really want it with Hov for the record/ I put a couple careers on hold you could be next kid/ Keep entering the danger zone/ You gon make that boy Hov put your name on a song/ If you that hungry for fame cock sucker come on." Hours after the appearance, the freestyle immediately spread across the Internet and heads began buzzing about a Jay-Z, Game, Cassidy feud. With the buzz heightening, Hov came forward and denied that the freestyle was aimed at Game. There was no clarification regarding Cassidy. He also added that the verse was a love letter to summer; a farewell to the season his albums have dominated for the past 8 years.
ALLEGED CONSPIRATOR IN MURDER INC INVESTIGATION JAILED
Feb 21st, 05'

One of the alleged conspirators in the MURDER INC drug-money scandal was jailed on Thursday (Feb 17th,05) on separate charges of gun possession.

TYRAN 'TA TA' MOORE, who had refused to cooperate with the federal investigation of record label Murder Inc and its connection to drug lord KENNETH 'SUPREME' McGRIFF, was sentenced to six years in prison, with an additional three years of supervised release, a probation-like condition which requires him to continue treatment for substance abuse, reports MTV.COM.

McGriff pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on charges of murder and racketeering on Thursday. He faces the death penalty if convicted.

JA RULE and ASHANTI are signed to Murder Inc, run by IRVING 'IRV GOTTI' LORENZO, who is also under investigation.

LATEST: MURDER INC boss IRV GOTTI and his brother CHRISTOPHER LORENZO have surrendered to police in New York after being hit with federal charges of money laundering and racketeering.

The charges follow a three year investigation of the rap mogul's business enterprises and his links with convicted drug lord KENNETH 'SUPREME' McGRIFF, a childhood friend.

Prosecutors believe McGriff and the Lorenzos partnered up to hide hundreds of thousands of dollars in drug profits in MURDER INC, the former name of Gotti's label.

Gotti's lawyer GERALD LEFCOURT insists his client is innocent: "Ultimately, he will be vindicated."
50 LAUGHS OFF THE INC TRUCE RUMOURS WITH FIGHTING TALK
Jan 3rd, 05'

50 CENT insists he'll never end his war of words with JA RULE and his THE INC labelmates until the company is no more.

The tough-talking New York rapper, who has been a longtime rap enemy of Ja Rule, laughs off reports of an imminent truce between the two heavyweights because he knows such a thing will only come back to attack him.

Speaking exclusively on MTV's ALL EYES ON 50 CENT: THE SEQUEL, the rap star explains, "If I let up off MURDER INC they'll linger for a little bit, people will start to feel like it's OK to like them, they get back in position and then, guess what? They wanna fight again.

"Now they're all, 'Ooh, peace treaty, white flag, everybody please get up off us.'

"But if you let 'em get back up on their feet they wanna fight again. That's why I said, for me, when you begin to destroy you should destroy completely. "I've got the time and energy to ruin what is left of their careers."
Layzie Bone Attacked by Angry Fan
September 27th, 05'

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's Layzie Bone almost lost a finger last weekend in Palm Springs, CA. The whole group was supposed to perform there but the show was cancelled. According to various sources, Layzie Bone had invited several fans to chill in his hotel room. One of them allegedly attacked him because of the show cancellation. The man bit one of Layzie Bone's fingers which pierced the skin all the way to the bone. Layzie was rushed to the hospital and after some stiches, the doctors were able to save the finger. Layzie Bone didn't press charges and refused to cooperate with the police. The attacker was not arrested.
